What is manufactured stone veneer? Manufactured stone veneer is a lightweight, durable alternative to natural stone. At Superior Stone, we cast our veneer from eight distinct molds taken from real stone, ensuring authentic texture and depth. It is made from a precise blend of Portland cement, lightweight aggregates, and iron oxide pigments, resulting in a product that looks and feels like natural stone but is much easier and more affordable to install.
Where is your stone made? All of our stone veneer, precast accessories, pavers, and garden objects are manufactured locally right here in Bothell, Washington. Because you are buying direct from the manufacturer, you cut out the middleman and get high-end quality at a better price.
Do you offer a warranty? Yes. Our manufactured stone products are built to last both indoors and outdoors, and they come backed by a 50-year warranty.
Can I get a custom color? Absolutely. While we offer four distinct standard color palettes developed to complement all types of manufactured stone, we specialize in custom coloring. We can create custom blends for your project or accurately match the shade of your existing stone veneer.
Ordering & Shipping
Can I buy direct from you? Yes! We sell direct to homeowners, contractors, and builders. You can browse our products online or visit our Bothell location to view our outdoor displays in person.
Do you ship or deliver? We offer local pickup from our Bothell manufacturing facility, and we can also arrange delivery for projects throughout the Puget Sound area. Please contact us to discuss delivery options and rates for your specific location.
What are your typical lead times? Lead times can vary depending on the size of your order and whether you require custom coloring. Standard products are often available quickly, while custom matches may require additional production time. Contact us for current lead times.
How do I estimate how much stone I need? To calculate your square footage, measure the length and height of the wall area you want to cover and multiply them together. Then, subtract the square footage of any doors or windows within that space. For corners, measure the total linear feet of the outside corners. We generally recommend adding 5–10% extra to account for cuts and waste during installation.
Installation
Can I install the stone myself (DIY)? Yes, our manufactured stone veneer is lightweight and straightforward to install over most surfaces, making it a great option for experienced DIYers. We are more than happy to guide you through your DIY project. However, for large exterior projects or complex installations, we recommend hiring a professional mason or contractor.
What surfaces can stone veneer be installed on? Our stone veneer can be installed over unpainted brick, concrete block, poured concrete, or cement board. For wood-framed walls (like most residential exteriors or interior drywall), it requires a weather-resistant barrier, metal lath, and a scratch coat of mortar before the stone is applied.
